Public artwork commissioned by Burgas Airport. Acrylic paint on aluminum recycled airplane wings. 300/350 cm

Painting on two airplane wings and three smaller airplane parts featuring allegorical images of flying women. Inspired by already existing public artwork at Burgas airport–a sculpture of Icarus–this work praises the ever-lasting dedication of people to fight with an emphasis on women. The use of recycled airplane parts as “canvas” delivers an ecological statement, but also projects the idea of mindful use of technology and the contribution women have not only to the technological realization of the dream of flying but to the technoethics and human responsibility to the environment, society and peaceful skies. The work will be installed at Terminal 2 at Burgas Airport in 2024.
